One common argument made by Indian EDM purists and festival goers has been the lack of a dedicated stage or rather a section of a particular festival to underground music. Often lost in the glitz and glamour of big name headliners, the Indian audience has hardly got a glimpse into the eccentric and engaging world of underground music.
However this year, the Bacardi Enchanted Valley Carnival, quite rightly known as the festival of firsts, has decided to take this onus of introducing an intelligent global music culture on themselves and belt out an exclusive underground music stage which will feature some of the best techno artists from across the globe and a host of pulsating Indian artists. One fascinating fact about this underground stage is that it is going to be programmed by the homegrown Techno brand, The Soma Project. For those of you who aren’t quite aware of what The Soma Project is all about, here’s a little background check.
Soma Project is a successful Indian party brand and a beach club, which was founded in Goa two years ago. Its unique concept stands out for promoting intelligent electronic music mixed with the beach sunset ambience and a high-end cocktail bar.
Bringing some extraordinary talent to the festival, this brand, which has grown immensely in the last 3 years, is all set to program something spectacular for all 3 days of the festival, making BEVC 2015 an absolutely unmissable affair.
If only the prospect of having such a magnificently assembled stage amidst the hills of Aamby Valley City is making you go bonkers, then you’re surely in for an absolute treat once you know the entire artist roster which is set to grace this stage. Known for his exclusive sunset sets, the legendary Simon Posford of Shpongle will be back making his festival debut in India. Fans can expect him to set the mood for the evening with his soothing yet engaging tunes.
Riktam & Bansi, the duo from GMS who’ve had a deep connect with India in their formative years will be making their way to Aamby Valley City to break it down for all festival attendees. Steve Rachmad, known to draw inspiration from his love for high quality disco and electro from the past is all set to enthrall fans with his captivating selection of sounds.
And completing the foreign artist roster is one of the biggest and most sought-after producers in the international Psy-trance circuit today, Avalon is all set for his trip to India. And this isn’t the end. This stage will also feature a bevy of supremely talented Indian artists in Ashvin Mani Sharma, Bullzeye & Chromaderma, who will be captivating the crowds with their raw talent.
With the introduction of The Soma Stage, BEVC have surely taken proceedings to the next level and have furthured cemented their status as a festival of firsts. Moreover, the introduction of hardstyle artists has proved to be another major drawing point for the 2-year-old festival.
