Nucleya is the next nuclear thing on the Indian Dance Music scene.
Nucleya: The stage name of Udyan Sagar, is in the news for all the right reasons.
He is arguably India’s best bass music producer. He makes music, focussing on sounds and textures that are Indian in sound but international in appeal and that is what making him stand out of the crowd.
We feel Nucleya has started a massive wave and it’s only gonna get stronger & stronger from here, here’s why:
Nucleya and his Live Energetic Performance is incredible!
If you have ever attended a gig where Nucleya is performing you would understand what we are talking about. Nucleya has a quality of excitement and piquancy to his live performance. He doesn’t just play music, he feels, just dances crazy and goes hard just like any of us in the crowd.
His collaborations with Bollywood are 10 / 10!
Apart from releasing his own singles, EPs and albums. Nucleya has collaborated with many Bollywood films and has composed songs for movies like Mere Dad ki Maruti and the latest one being Let’s Nacho for the movie ‘Kapoor & Sons’.
We sense a lot more collaborations because his catchy beats are making news and people want to hear something new. Nucleya is the answer to this! Have a look at this banger here:
Release of the album Bass Rani at Ganpati Visarjan was massive
We don’t know of any artist who has released his album at a GANPATI VISARJAN of all the frickin’ possible places!! Now that is audacious!
In 2015, Nucleya with his team released his album BassRani at a Ganpati Visarjan in Mumbai and kicked up a monster party for the crowd. If he continues with such out of the box ideas I feel he’s surely gonna go a long way. 🙂

Free download of the entire album, Bass Rani, why would he do that?
Okay, we might have seen a lot of DJs and music producers giving away a few singles here and there for their fans as free downloads, but an entire album? Nucleya is one of those rare artists who gave an entire album as a free download. When asked about it, Nucleya said,
“The paid music system didn’t work for me, the reach was very small (even with label marketing) and it didn’t result in the income I was hoping to make with the sales. With free downloads, I do get an incredible reach and it helps me build my fan base. A lot of our fans are young and in colleges, so they may not have access to credit cards or paid music gateways, so we try to make it as simple for them as possible.“

Last but not the least, Touring like a monster!
For any DJ to stay in touch with his fanbase, the most important thing to do is keep touring.
Few weeks back, Nucleya kicked off his tour Bass Yatra across India and has already performed in cities like Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Guwahati, Pune and many more. The entire Bass Yatra has received a huge response from his fellow yatriyons. 😉 Apart from touring in India, he has performed at major festivals around the world including Glastonbury (UK), Edinburgh Fringe Festival (UK), Lille 3000 (France) and the Electron Festival (Switzerland), where he performed alongside artists like Diplo and Modeselektor. It won’t be long before he performs at the best music festival in the world, Tomorrowland.
Not to forget, he opened the Mad Decent Block Party which recently concluded in India & was headlined by Major Lazer.

Fun Fact: ‘Nucleya’ was Udyan Sagar’s email password when he was in his teens. 😉
All said, Nucleya has earned the respect and admiration of fans and peers alike. His tracks are a proof of his ability to twist and turn Indian sounds into bass-heavy anthems. We wish Nucleya all the success. What is your favorite Nucleya song? Comment and tell us.
