We sat down for a quick chat with Indian prodigy and Sunburn’s resident DJ Shaan Singh before he mesmerizes thousands of people with his music at Tomorrowland and asked him about his experience at the mammoth festival, his future projects and his plans for the remainder of the dance music calendar.
How excited are you about returning to the Tomorrowland stage again this year?
It’s always an exciting time when it comes to Tomorrowland, I cant wait to see what it has in store for me and my career.
Since you’ve been producing some quality music of late, can we expect some more glimpses into your upcoming projects through your Tomorrowland set?
Firstly thanks! Yes, I’ve got around 8-10 brand new finished tracks that I’m gonna be test running at tomorrowland and since it is a 60 minute set, it might just be a 75% Shaan music set this time around!
You were the only Indian performing at Tomorrowland last year. However, this year, Lost Stories and Zaeden are set to make their debuts over there too. Do you think we can expect more and more Indian artists to play there in the foreseeable future?
Yes. Quite clearly, Indian talent is getting recognized around the world and that is truly amazing. It is just what we all want to be honest!
What element of Tomorrowland makes the vibe of the festival so special and unique for dance music fans and DJ’s alike?
I think its just the happiness of that festival is what makes the vibe so much more great to me!
Lastly, what are your expectations and hopes for the remainder of the dance music calendar?
I have a lot planned, and a lot of that is going to be done! It’s going to be tough with University right around the corner though. I’m 90% certain to be playing at another international dance music festival before the season comes to a close so that’s a hint for you guys!
We at EDMofy would like to wish Shaan – the best of luck for his set at Tomorrowland and hope he makes India proud on the international stage.
