With the judging period of deadmau5 and Dillon Francis ‘Some Chords‘ remix contest coming to an end yesterday, the curtains have been opened on the much-awaited winner of this prize-laden Beatport contest.
18 year old Toronto resident Andrei Stephen has been declared as the DJ who takes home the bag full of goodies, for his deserving remix of the popular EDM anthem Some Chords.
Already grabbing eyeballs for his techno-infused sounds and his seemingly extensive mixing technique used in the remix, Andrei Stephen has already achieved much more than the average 18 year old . And with this Beatport contest added to his list of highs, we can reckon that this teenager is surely going to pull some big strings in the EDM arena.
Here’s what Andrei tweeted on getting the good news:
Thank you @deadmau5 & @DILLONFRANCIS for picking my remix to win the Some Chords contest. This is only the beginning.
To add to the excitement of this mega-contest, we had previously come up with a list featuring 8 top class Some Chords remixes competing to win the enviable prize of landing a chance to exclusively release their track on the very own mau5trap record label. Andrei Stephen’s remix was one of the 8 featured on our list, and now the 18 year old has gone on and won the No.1 spot with a score of 188 votes in total.
