There are few things you should never argue about with Goans. Firstly, their beaches. They swear by their exotic beaches and take my word, they’re really good! Secondly, their nightlife and clubs. Goa has some of the best places to party in the whole country, and once you’re there you won’t feel like going back home. Thirdly, football! With clubs like Salgaocar and Dempo to boast about, football runs in their blood. And now, it s DJ Aneesh Gera! Tell them you can find a better success story about a local DJ making it to the top and they’re not going to buy it. And how can anyone, for that matter? From humble beginnings in local clubs in the heart of Goa to performances with the biggest international names in the dance music scene, DJ Aneesh Gera is now a serious talent to reckon with. And now with his latest work ‘Flashback Rewind’ in collaboration with UK artist Lisa Williams releasing to tremendous reviews, not just Goa but the whole country is proud of this man.
Although a music buff since childhood, DJing was not something Aneesh exactly dreamt about doing when he grew up. But so it was to be, and at the age of 17, he was already a professional DJ, and since then he hasn’t looked back, as Aneesh revealed to us in an exclusive interview.
Quite simply, if you draw out a career map of DJ Aneesh Gera, it will be jampacked with milestones. A few worth mentioning include him working alongside Grammy winning musician Ashanti and being backed by EDM giants Fedde Le Grand, Daniel Portman and a list of other superstars. The Goan DJ put India on the world map when he was invited to the Ministry Of Sound to do a guest mix and was also interviewed for a radio session by the Ministry Of Sound. All along, Aneesh has left his mark on all of the biggest festivals including Sunburn, Vh1 Supersonic and Bacardi’s mega concerts.
Back again rekindling his passion for music, Aneesh has come out with an electronica number ‘Flashback Rewind’ featuring euphoric vocals from Newcastle based Lisa Williams. His latest collaboration, breaking into the Billboard charts at #49, flows with easy going bass and great pluck sounds, packaged with a slow and soothing trance beat that will slowly make you sway to the music. With the groovy feeling brushed to the song, Aneesh once again shows his impressive skills at mixing the progressive number to suit the comforting vocals. Here it two or three times and you’ll be pressing the replay button for quite some time!
Aneesh surely gets the thumbs up from us for this new year gift 😀
