Sunburnt on Day 3
One of the most remarkable days at the festival, this day was responsible for collecting a crowd much more than the previous two days for a reason we all know.
Genius at Work Ummet Ozcan
It all began at the dance temple stage with our own homegrown talent Aneesh Gera along with his partner in crime Jimmy Kennedy played multigenre house music. Gera who is a Goan by origin, his name can be found at #1 positions on charts like Traxsource sometimes even ahead of artists like Dmitri Vegas and Like Mike for the big labels he is signed to. Following his act Indian Talents Lost Stories X Anish Sood played some popular house tunes along with Lost Stories giving away some of their own original tunes to the crowd. Wolfpack played a hour long set which included a lot of popular dutch house including some of their own tunes like Ocarina which is a part of the tomorrowland aftermovie. Following Wolfpack the multigenre legend and Sound engineer Ummet Ozcan killed it by playing most of his original stuff and remixes with his sick Turkish Origin beats. Ummet Ozcan’s releases can mostly be found in the highest regions of the Beatport trance charts and are supported by A-list DJs like Sander van Doorn, Armin van Buuren, Tiësto and Markus Schulz. The crowd went haywire when he threw in his remix for Sander Van Doorn’s Neon. It was truly a revolution which led the crowd to evolve into a huge gathering when he played his latest tune Revolution in collaboration with R3hab and Nervo sisters. NO ID mixed a bit of tech house along with progressive house. NO ID’s gig formed a bridge between Ummet Ozcan’s remarkable performance and the swede Axwell who drove the crowd crazy just with his appearance on stage. Axwell was full of energy at his performance and played almost all of his original music. The 33% of Swedish House Mafia left the audience on their own to sing their legendary world famous tune “Don’t You Worry Child” remix by Blinder ending his performance with the same. Axwell has built a relation of 6 years now with the Sunburn Festival and speaks out his feelings saying “If I have to play in Summer I would be in Ibiza or Miami, if I have to play for New Year’s I would be at Las Vegas but if I have to play for love It would always be at India”. He stunned the Indian Audience with those words.
Simultaneously, The BBC Radio One Legend Pete Tong, who decides the career of most of the artists across the world played an amazing set on the Space Station stage which was preceded by popular international acts like Timo Maas, Jaymo & Andy George and Indian acts like Vipul X Vinayak A. Mark Knight took control of the Cubezoid stage with a lot of stage effects combining his music followed by techno music act Prok and Fitch. Several other drum and bass acts were in action at the bass machine stage by noted artists like Catch 22 and several others.
The mainstage dance temple ended with Axwell’s gig followed by a lot of stage effects and some powerful fireworks marking the end of a dream for many people with Shailendra Singh the head honcho of Percept’s Sunburn Festival speaking out his feelings to the people who made the event a big success. Thus, the 3 day heavenly festival has come to an end and will be followed by Sunburn with Sunburn Arena- Armin Only world tour of the 2012 #1 DJ Mag world famous trance legend Armin Van Buuren and the greatest of the greatest Deadmau5’ India tour with Sunburn Festival later in March. So take care fellas, party hard and safe and get ready for Above and Beyond to take you to a different world at the supersonic festival last day.
